Finals. The worst part of college. I was #blessed with three finals on the first day, Thursday. Luckily, I had my remaining two finals on Monday. First the first time ever I finished my finals before everyone else. I'm always last. My last name begins with an S. Being a summer baby, I got my driver's license mid-August. I'm still a child because only a handful of my friends aren't 21 yet either. But any who, I'm officially a college senior. Woo!!

To start off my summer, I've been making a list of all the places I want/must/need to eat at before leaving San Diego. After grabbing dinner with my friends at Sushi Kuchi, I spent the night perusing Instagram for all the best restaurants in San Diego. I wrote their names down and then scanned their websites for the menus. From there, I quickly cut down my list. I'm not a big breakfast food person- I don't eat eggs or milk- so if a restaurant didn't have some pancake or yogurt that caught my attention, it got a big fat X. My two page list has drastically shortened. This task made me hungry for a midnight (11 o'clock) snack. The recipe is below!

The first on my foodie list was Civico 1845. Having looked at their menu beforehand, I knew what I planned to order. Pappardelle Braso was my lucky pick. Let me just say- this was uh-mazing. I wanted to eat and eat. The short rib ragu was perfectly matched with the thick noodles. My experience was complete with my table outside so I could enjoy the gloomy yet gorgeous afternoon. I paired my meal with the first of my summer books. I just started reading Low Pressure by Sandra Brown.

Knowing I was in Little Italy, I knew I had to save room for some kind of dessert. I was planning to stop by a little shop for a cannoli. I walked down the street to first look at the little boutiques and found iDessert by Jean-Philippe. People have been raving about this place so I passed on the cannoli and walked on in. Through the iPad, I customized my dessert with an Oreo crust, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, caramel drizzle, and banana cake. I opted out of the Vegas bowl which your dessert on top of a bowl of dry ice. When my dessert arrived, I snapped so photos and was in awe of the display. Ready to dive in, I drizzled the caramel and cracked the crust. I didn't like the crust nor the cake. I was so sad that I wasn't so impressed with the dessert itself so I was sad i turned down a cannoli. If you don't try it, you'll never know!
